Re-issue of passport on completion of validity of current passport/exhaustion of pages
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here (Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected )
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Payment Proof.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Passport for children below 18 years of age
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here. ( Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected )
- Self-attested copies of parents' passports and residence permits / visas
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Consent Letter/Affidavit from parents/guardian
- Note: The passport will be valid for five years or till the minor attends the age of 18 years whichever is earlier. However, minors in the age group of 15 to 18 years are eligible to apply for 10 years validity passport with additional fees.
- Receipt of fee.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Fresh passport to a newborn child
There are two steps for issuance of fresh passport to a new born child outside India.
FIRST STEP (REGISTRATION OF BIRTH/BIRTH CERTIFICATE) : The child must be first registered as an Indian Citizen. For details please click click here
NOTE: For a child born in Germany to be registered as an Indian citizen the application must be made within one year of the child's birth on the prescribed form. At least one of the child's parents must be an Indian citizen at the time of applying.
SECOND STEP (APPLICATION FOR PASSPORT): Following procedure may be followed for applying for fresh passport to a new born child:
- Print-out of the passport application form filled online be taken. Instead of signature, thumb impression of the child is required in signature box on the first page and last page of the application form below the photograph ( l eft hand thumb impression)
- Procedure as mentioned above in First Step for registration of child as an Indian citizen be followed and separate set of documents may be attached as mentioned above.
- Copy of Birth Certificate issued by the local German Authority
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here . ( Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected )
- Self-attested copies of parents' passports and residence permits / visas
- Copy of Meldebescheinigung (Proof of residency/address)
- Consent Letter/Affidavit from parents/guardian.
- Annexure C – applicable when one parent has not given consent
- Expected Service Time 6-8 weeks
- Child’s presence at the consulate is not mandatory. However the presence of both the parents is mandatory at the time of submission of the application.
- Payment proof
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification
Fresh passport to a newborn child
There are two steps for issuance of fresh passport to a new born child outside India. Applications from both steps can be submitted together while submitting documents at the Embassy

- Self-attested copies of parents' passports and residence permits / visas
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Consent Letter/Affidavit from parents/guardian.
- Annexure C – applicable when one parent has not given consent
- Expected Service Time 6-8 weeks
- Child’s presence at the consulate is not mandatory. However the presence of both the parents is mandatory at the time of submission of the application.
- Payment can be made at the counter at Consular Section
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Re-issue of passport for splitting name (writing name and surname in different columns in the passport)
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.

- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Affidavit for name split
- Any two public documents issued by Authority of India /School leaving Certificates
- Payment proof.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Re-issue of passport for inclusion of spouse name in the passport
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.

- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Self-Declaration by the applicant OR the Copy of Marriage Certificate
- Payment proof.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Re-issue of passport in lieu of lost or damaged passport
02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here .( Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected )
- Photocopy of the lost passport (first page and last page). Passport in original in case of damaged passport
- Police report, in original, for the lost passport containing the lost passport number
- An Affidavit for Passport in lieu of Lost/Damaged Passport (Annexure L) and Affidavit regarding Transfer of Residence. -->Affidavit regarding loss of passport/damaged passport. -->
- In case of lost or damaged passport, postal applications will not be accepted , you are requested to visit Embassy of India with the application and supporting documents as explained below.
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here . (Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected)
- Photocopy of the lost passport (first page and last page). Passport in original in case of damaged passport.
- Police report, in original, for the lost passport containing the lost passport number
- An Affidavit for Passport in lieu of Lost/Damaged Passport ( Annexure L ) and Affidavit regarding Transfer of Residence. Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence Permit) and copy of the same. Original to be presented at the time of submission of documents. When Visa is also lost, Bescheinigung is to be submitted obtained from Landesamt für Einwanderung (LEA or Ausländerbehorde). -->
- Copy of Visa/Residence Permit/Auftenthaltstitel
- Original to be presented at the time of submission of documents for verification.
- In the case, when Visa/Residence Permit/Auftenthaltstitel is lost, a certificate from Immigration Office, called Bescheinigung, clearly stating the validity of applicant´s Visa/Residence Permit/Auftenthaltstitel, is to be submitted.
- This certificate can be obtained from Immigration Office ( Landesamt für Einwanderung /LEA or Ausländerbehorde) of the city you reside in.
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Payment of 112 Euro for 36 pages and payment of 132 for 60 pages can be paid in cash at the Cash counter at Consular Section of Embassy.
- Payment Proof if payment made online.

(In case of frequent loss/damage of passport, additional penalty will be separately charged and decided on a case to case basis).
Re-issue of passport due to change in appearance
(Phsyical presence of Applicant is mandatory at the Consulate for submission/processing of application)
- In this case of passport application for appearance change, postal applications will not be accepted, but you are requested to visit Embassy of India with the application and supporting documents as explained below. (Physical presence of the applicant is mandatory at the Consulate for submission/processing of application for category of change of appearance applications)
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the last step below.
- 02recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here.(Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected)
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Duly filled with a photograph Change in Appearance Affidavit. Download the Change in Appearance Click here Affidavit shoul be signed in front of Consular Officer
- Payments can be made at Consular Section of the Embassy only in Cash while submitting the application.
- Expected Service Time 6-7 weeks
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification
Re-issue of passport due to change of name after marriage or remarriage
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below.
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here .( Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected )
- New name to be filled in the online application form
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Passport Copy of spouse (first page and last page)
- Copy of Anmeldung / City Registration
- Joint Affidavit along with marriage photo to be signed by husband and wife OR Copy of the Marriage Certificate
- Attested copy of divorce decree (For name change after divorce)
- Expected Service Time 8-10 weeks
- For going back to maiden name because of death of spouse/divorce, death certificate/divorce decree needed.
- Receipt of fee.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Re-issue of passport due to change of name after divorce/death of spouse

- New name to be filled in the online application form
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
- Passport Copy of spouse (first page and last page)
- In case of Divorce: Copy of Decree of Divorce attested by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. Original may be presented to Consular Officer if asked to produce the same. If the Decree of Divorce is issued by local court in Germany, the same should be notarized and attested court in the jurisdiction of Embassy.
- In the case of Death of Spouse: Copy of Death Certificate attested by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. Original may be presented to Consular Officer if asked to produce the same. In case of death in Germany, Death Certificate issued by KVR or Auslanders Behorde/City Authorities only is acceptable
- Payment proof.
- Original Passport and Visa/Residence Permit/ Aufenthaltstitel to be presented during the physical submission of documents at the Embassy for verification

Re-issue of passport due to change in name (For reasons other than marriage or divorce)
- Duly filled and printed passport application form as mentioned in the link below in Category of Change in Personal Particulars.
- 02 recent photographs (one pasted on the designated place in the application form and other stapled on the last page of application form) - For Photo Specification click here .( Application form with photo of wrong specifications would be rejected)
- New name to be filled in the online application form
- Original Passport and one copy of front and last page of the Passport. (Original Passport is mandatory, otherwise application will be rejected)
- Copy of Proof of City Registration (Meldebesatigung / Anmeldung / Proof of current Germany address)
- Copy of Visa/Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit) Affidavit on change of name to be signed by the applicant -->
- An Affidavit copy (created from the Notary in India propose the new name) by the person who changed his /her name.
- Name change announcement published in two leading newspapers (one Indian and one German) - Original newspaper (with all the pages) to be submitted (Highlight the section where the name change appears) Or Publication in State Gazette – Original Gazette to be submitted (Highlight the section where the name change appears) Or State E-Gazette - Print the first page and the page where the name change appears.
- Copy of Two identity documents now issued with the changed New name from Authority of India.
- Expected Service Time 8-10 weeks
- Payment proof.
